Released in 2006, The Pink Panther put a modern spin on the classic franchise by following Inspector Jacques Clouseau as he’s assigned to solve the high-profile theft of the legendary Pink Panther diamond – and the murder of its famous owner.

Starring Steve Martin as Clouseau, alongside Kevin Kline, Beyoncé, and Jean Reno, the film brought an iconic blend of mystery and broad comedy.

As The Pink Panther celebrates its 20th anniversary on Feb. 10, 2026, it’s a perfect time to revisit where the cast is now.

Steve Martin starred in The Pink Panther as Inspector Jacques Clouseau, the famously incompetent French detective at the center of the mystery.

The role was most famously originated by Peter Sellers, whose portrayal defined the character in the original films from the 1960s and 1970s. Martin brought his own comedic style to the reboot, leaning into awkwardness and verbal humor.

Beyond The Pink Panther, the 80-year-old is known for film franchises like Cheaper by the Dozen and Father of the Bride.

With over five decades in the industry, Martin has earned numerous prestigious awards for his work — winning five Grammys, a Primetime Emmy, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and more.
