How I Met Your Motheractor Nick Pasqual is facing life in prison for attacking his former girlfriend, Allie Shehorn.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the two met on the set of the sci-fi action film Rebel Moon. Pasqual was in an uncredited role, while Shehorn was working in the makeup department, per her IMDb.
Pasqual and Shehorn dated, but Shehorn would eventually file a restraining order against Pasqual in May 2024. Days later, he would break into her house and stab her multiple times.

Pasqual appeared in a 2011 episode of How I Met Your Mother.
"Field Trip" — season 7, episode 5 of the sitcom — featured Pasqual playing Will, an architecture student of Ted's (Josh Radnor).
According to his IMDb, Pasqual has also been in a variety of projects, including Netflix's Archive 81 and Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire. Other roles include the 2009 film Homecoming and 17 episodes of A Demon's Destiny: The Lone Warrior.
Rebel Moon was his most recent credit in 2023.
He attacked his girlfriend in May 2024

On May 18, 2024, Pasqual was arrested on a felony domestic violence-related charge against Shehorn. He was booked into an L.A. jail, but was released later that afternoon on a $50,000 bond.
“As soon as he paid his bail, he came after her,” Shehorn's friend and fellow makeup artist, Jed Dornoff told PEOPLE in May 2024.
Shehorn filed a restraining order against Pasqual on May 20. Just a few days later on May 23, Pasqual broke into Shehorn's home and attacked her. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m.

He stabbed her more than 20 times and “inflicted great bodily injury upon the victim under circumstances involving domestic violence," according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
"I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open," Shehorn said during the trial, per ABC7. "I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there's another lock on that door."
Shehorn's friend Christine White would find her lying in a pool of blood, per the Los Angeles Times. Following the attack, Shehorn underwent 14 hours of life-saving surgeries for the stab wounds.
Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said in a press release, “This heinous incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence,” adding that the attack was “egregious.”
He fled to the U.S./Mexico border before his arrest
After stabbing Shehorn, Pasqual allegedly fled the scene, but was later detained in Sierra Blanca, Texas, at a U.S./Mexico border checkpoint. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Nearly two years later on April 27, 2026, Pasqual's trial started, per The Wrap. According to ABC7, on May 8, 2026, Pasqual was found guilty of attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present and injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend or child's parent.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Pasqual was also convicted of one count of forcible rape from a separate incident, which occurred one month before the knife attack.

Pasqual was found guilty on May 8. His sentencing is scheduled for June 2, according to the L.A. Times. He faces a maximum penalty of serving life in a state prison.
Shehorn's GoFundMe, which has raised over $100,000 to help pay for her hospital bills and continued recovery, remains open.
In a July 2024 update to the fundraiser, Dornoff wrote, “One day, when this all is over we will have Allie write out her story on here, let you know what happened."
