Travis Kelce totally gets why Prince William wanted to move him out of photo with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce is responding to Prince William’s recent remarks about a photo they took in 2024.
William joked that he tried to cut the athlete out of the image on a recent Graham Norton Show visit.
Travis said he could totally see why, considering he was “just a boyfriend at that point.”
Travis Kelce isn’t starting any royal drama with Prince William.
Days after the Prince of Wales jokingly revealed that he attempted to move Travis out of the royal family’s selfie with Taylor Swift at her 2024 London concert, the Kansas City Chiefs star addressed William’s remarks on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.
“I get it, man,” Travis said. “I was just a boyfriend at that point. You know? I wasn’t her husband yet.”

The athlete joked, “We don’t really know if this is gonna last, so it’s kinda [like,] can you just move out of the way real quick so we can keep this photo forever?”
His brother, Jason Kelce, also described William’s plan as “very understandable” given that Travis and Taylor were still just dating each other at the time. “Hopefully, this doesn’t go south,” he teased. “Otherwise, this photo is not gonna be as good.”
Jason further offered William a consolation prize. “Prince William, don’t worry, we had the New Heights graphic team take care of this for you,” he said.
The former football star then displayed a quick clip of Travis disappearing from the original photograph so that only Taylor, William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte remained.
“Nice!” Travis cheered. “I gotta ship that to him. Just send it to Buckingham Palace. You think it’ll get to him?”

In addition to the clip, the New Heights team also posted a series of photos on X in which Travis is removed from the original image and replaced with Jason. “As you requested, @KensingtonRoyal,” the account joked.
William first revealed his plan to get Travis out of frame while visiting The Graham Norton Show last week.
“I hadn’t appreciated the significance — and actually, I was trying to move him out of the photo,” the royal joked at the time. “But Travis kept coming back in, and I couldn’t work out why he kept coming back in. I was trying to move him out, so it was just me and Taylor and the children.”
Host Graham Norton then informed the audience that the image also marked the first time that Taylor and Travis went “photo official” with their relationship. “Apparently,” William said. “Yeah.”
William and Travis have clearly found their footing in the years since, because the royal appeared on the New Heights podcast a pre-recorded July 2026 episode that aired hours before Travis and Taylor celebrated their MSG wedding.
