This post contains spoilers for season 4 of Selling the OC.

Alex Hall reveals she hadn't talked to Tyler Stanaland in a year and a half before a run-in on season 4 of Selling the OC

She confronts him about an “elephant in the room,” referring to Brittany Snow’s 2024 appearance on Call Her Daddy, in which Snow hinted at infidelity in her marriage to Stanaland

“I just don’t want to get blamed as being the other woman because your ex-wife thinks it was me and it wasn’t me, it was somebody else,” Hall says

Alex Hall calls out Tyler Stanaland for choosing not to “defend” her amid speculation about their relationship during a tense confrontation in the new season of Selling the OC.

In the third episode of the Netflix docusoap’s fourth season, the Oppenheim Group agent reunites with Stanaland, who left the brokerage in October 2023.

The pair shared a longtime friendship before exploring a romantic connection in season 2 of the reality series, during which they kissed. However, their relationship fizzled in season 3, with Hall claiming that Stanaland “emotionally shut down.”

Hall runs into Stanaland at fellow cast member Gio Helou’s broker’s open and acknowledges that they haven’t talked in a year and a half.

Hall tells Stanaland she wants to address an “elephant in the room” when it comes to their relationship.

“It has to do with your wife going on a very, very, very public podcast and saying things that aren’t literal and they're beating around the bush,” she says. “And the reality is the whole speculation has been around you and I. And I truly believe that there’s a possibility that your ex wife thought that I was the other woman in the equation.”

Stanaland’s ex-wife Brittany Snow opened up about their split, hinting at infidelity, during a much-publicized appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast in March 2024.

Hall tells Stanaland that “it’s a very small town” and she heard from friends that he was seeing someone else around the same time.

“I just don’t want to get blamed as being the other woman because your ex-wife thinks it was me and it wasn’t me, it was somebody else,” she explains.

Stanaland then admits, “Before being legally divorced, I was dating other people.”

“That’s what I’m saying,” Hall replies. “I took the f---ing fall for that.”

“You didn’t have the balls to defend me,” she goes on. “I’ve defended you for years and had your back. I had deals over $50,000 worth of business canceled on me because of that. I have two kids to feed. This is my life, this is my livelihood. It would’ve meant a lot if you had stuck up for me.”

Stanaland tells Hall he wishes he could “go back and do so much differently.”

“What I can do is look you in the face and tell you I’m sorry,” he says. “And I understand where you’re coming from.”

Hall then says she’s more hurt as his friend than anything else.

When Snow appeared on Call Her Daddy last year, Cooper brought up rumors that swirled among the show’s fans about the nature of his relationships with some of his co-stars.

"Your ex-husband went on a reality show and there was a situation with another woman that just played out and you had no idea what was happening until it aired for the world," the podcast host said.

“They took up a lot of energy and emotion and time and real estate in my head," the Hunting Wives star responded. "I don't wanna give them any more time and energy because then they would win and get what they wanted — which was getting my time and energy and attention."

The Pitch Perfect star added, "I will say what people think happened, happened."

The couple married in March 2020 and separated in September 2022, finalizing their divorce the following June.

Last month, Stanaland announced his engagement to girlfriend Hannah Morrisey.

Snow and Stanaland's relationship faced a major challenge when he revealed on season one that his costar Kayla Cardona had tried to kiss him twice.

Stanaland’s evolving relationship with Hall was also documented on the Selling Sunset spinoff, including their kiss on a work trip in Mexico at the end of season 2, which was released a year after Stanaland and Snow announced their separation.

Stanaland spoke out on social media following Snow’s public comments about their marriage.

“Relationships are complex even without public attention and speculation,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories shortly after the podcast episode was released in 2024.

“A mutual commitment was made, both personally and legally, to never speak about the complexities of my marriage publicly and I plan to honor that,” he added. “I do, however, want to make it clear that I was never unfaithful in my marriage and the accusations of infidelity couldn’t be further from the truth. I will be making no further comments on this matter.”

“I wish her nothing but the best,” he ended the post.
