Prince William didn't hesitate when he was asked a question about America's milestone 250th birthday during a surprise appearance on Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce's podcast.
While chatting with the NFL brothers, Jason posed a tongue-in-cheek question to the Prince of Wales.
"America is turning 250 years this year," Jason said. "Be honest. Are you surprised we made it?"
William didn't miss a beat.
"There were times," he joked with a laugh. "There were times. Yeah."

The lighthearted exchange quickly gave way to a more heartfelt reflection on the relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States.
"But I'd like to think the U.K. and the U.S. would be together for those 250 years," William continued. "It's a good brotherhood."
Jason agreed, replying, "It has been a really good brotherhood."
The candid moment came during William's surprise appearance on the New Heights podcast, where he discussed everything from his lifelong love of soccer to family life and sports fandom.

Elsewhere in the conversation, William shared that his passion for Aston Villa wasn't inherited from his father, King Charles.
Asked whether his dad had introduced him to the club, William laughed and replied, "Absolutely not. My father hates football."
Instead, he explained that his love of the sport began after childhood friends took him to his first match.

"My football love came from friends taking me to my first game," he said, recalling that soccer was impossible to avoid while growing up because "the football chat" was everywhere at school.
The conversation also included plenty of lighter moments. William playfully told Jason that he didn't know how he managed raising four daughters after Jason mentioned his family, saying, "Congratulations. Having four daughters—I don't know how you do that."

When Travis asked William to choose the most iconic moment at Wembley Stadium—his 2015 touchdown there or serving as a backup dancer during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour—William didn't hesitate with his answer.
"Travis as a backup dancer," he said.
The exchange comes just days after PEOPLE exclusively learned that Prince William and Kate Middleton will not be in attendance at Swift and Kelce's N.Y.C. wedding, despite William's longtime friendship with the pop superstar, including meeting her backstage at the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium last year with Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
