Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary about Elizabeth Holmes received an R-rating for language and graphic nudity.

The Theranos fraudster’s final weeks before prison are depicted in the upcoming documentary, which still has Fielder baffled.

You Can See Everything premieres in theaters on Oct. 16.

The film, focused on Elizabeth Holmes’ final weeks at home before being sent off to prison and directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, has received an R rating from the Motion Picture Association.

As for why, the film contains “language” and “graphic nudity.” Per, The Hollywood Reporter, one person goes full-frontal in the documentary, hence the eyebrow-raising content advisory.

A24 declined to comment on the matter.

Holmes dropped out of Stanford University as a sophomore in 2003 to launch medical tech company Theranos, which was named as a cross between “therapy” and “diagnosis.” Her company aimed to simplify blood tests with a small amount of blood from a finger prick instead of vials of blood with a machine she invented called the Edison.

She raised hundreds of millions of dollars from investors for the company and gained acclaim for her alleged accomplishments. By 2014, Theranos had a valuation of $9 billion. However, a bombshell article from the Wall Street Journalquestioned the capabilities and accuracy of Theranos’ technology.

The company’s value began to dwindle as more secrets about Theranos were exposed. In March 2018, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission charged Holmes with “massive fraud,” accusing her and accomplice Sunny Balwani of raising hundreds of millions of dollars under false pretense.

Balwani and Holmes were then indicted by a grand jury on 9 counts of wire fraud and 2 counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Holmes’ trial was delayed to early 2021 due to her pregnancy and the pandemic.

In January 2022, Holmes was convicted on 3 counts of wire fraud and 1 count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud while she oversaw the now-defunct Theranos. She was sentenced in 2022 to 11 years and 3 months in prison. Meanwhile, Balwani received a sentence of almost 13 years. Holmes’ sentence has since been reduced by 1 year.

Before she reported to prison in Bryan, Texas, in May 2023, however, she pulled back the curtain for a documentary crew.

“Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move,” the official synopsis for the film reads. “What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss.”

In the trailer, Fielder asks Holmes if the documentary crew may be too close for her comfort. “So, I know you guys invited me to stay here. Does any part of you worry about me being here 24/7?” He says, to which she responds, “I don’t think so.”

Fielder counters: “What if I see something that makes you look bad?”

At another point, Holmes insists in a now-viral moment, “I don’t have anything to hide.”

During a post-screening Q&A at Telluride Film Festival, Fielder admitted that he and the film crew couldn’t narrow down Holmes’ motives. “I really am struggling to this day to understand exactly what I experienced,” Fielder said, per Vanity Fair.

“And one of the things I’m genuinely excited about is for this movie to come out and for people to help me understand what I experienced. Truly, to this day, I don’t quite know what I went through.”

You Can See Everything premieres in theaters on Friday, Oct. 16.
