Hunters across Missouri can apply in July for a chance to participate in more than 140 managed deer hunts scheduled statewide.
The Missouri Department of Conservation is accepting online applications through July 31, according to a community announcement. The managed hunts are held at designated conservation areas, parks, national wildlife refuges and other public locations.
Applicants can choose from hunts using archery, muzzleloader, shotgun and modern firearms, with opportunities running from mid-September through mid-January.
Variety of hunts available statewide
Some of the managed hunts are tailored for specific groups, including youth, first-time hunters and people with disabilities, according to the announcement. Participants are selected through a weighted random drawing system.

The drawing results will be available online starting Aug. 15. Hunters who are selected will receive maps of their assigned area along with additional details by email or mail.

Hunters must submit their applications online during the July application period. Additional details about each hunt, including location and requirements, are available through the Missouri Department of Conservation’s managed hunt portal at mdc.mo.gov.
More information is also included in the agency’s 2026 Fall Deer & Turkey Hunting Regulations and Information booklet, which will be available in early July at MDC offices, nature centers, permit vendors and online, according to the announcement.
