Taj Jackson, the son of Tito Jackson, opened up about his uncle Michael becoming the most successful solo artist out of the Jackson 5.
Taj wrote that his father was "told by everyone that you are worthless without your younger brother."
Tito Jackson was the catalyst for the Jackson 5 forming, and stuck with the group as they rose to fame in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Taj Jackson is addressing a "sensitive" question when it comes to his family.
When a user on X asked why Michael Jackson ended up becoming the most successful solo artist out of the Jackson 5, the son of Tito Jackson shared his thoughts on the platform.
"I’ll answer since this is a very sensitive subject to me," Taj wrote. "Imagine since you were a teenager being told by everyone that you are worthless without your younger brother and you should thank him for everything you have."
"That’s exactly what my dad had to deal with his whole life," he continued. "He told me that personally on multiple occasions. What do you think that does to your self esteem and life?"

Taj's father, Tito, was the third eldest son of the famous Jackson children, and the catalyst for the forming of the prolific Jackson 5 group. Their father, Joe Jackson, found Tito playing guitar one day and realized his talent. Soon, the family band was formed and rose to major fame in the 1960s and '70s.

Tito played guitar, assisted on synthesizers, and provided backing vocals on iconic songs like "I Want You Back," "ABC," and "I'll Be There." The iconic family band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
Tito later launched his solo career in 2003, and has earned three Grammy Award nominations. He died in 2024 at the age of 70.

Following the death of his father, Taj shared an emotional Facebook post saying he was "not okay."
"I don’t know if I ever will be. My dad and I shared the same name, Tariano Adaryll Jackson, and people often called me his twin,” Taj wrote. "He was the man I’ve looked up to my entire life—my father, my hero."
Taj, who took after his father's musical inclinations by forming the band 3T with brothers TJ and Taryll, shared admiration for Tito's "genuine humbleness and humility."
"For all the legendary things he accomplished with his brothers, you’d never know it just by talking to him. Besides performing on stage, my dad loved to coach baseball, fish, and work on vintage cars," he added. "Everyone loved Tito, and in a way, it brings me comfort to know the world also shares in this sorrow and pain. It’s a reminder of how great a loss we’ve all suffered."
