Carey Mulligan has just received one of the highest honors from King Charles!
The actress, 40, traveled to Windsor Castle on Tuesday, March 31, where she received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to drama.
Mulligan looked stylish in an ivory embroidered tailored jacket, oversized smart trousers, a pair of black shades and minimal jewelry as she accepted the award.

The Beef star appeared in high spirits as she conversed with the King, 77, during the investiture ceremony after he placed the medal onto her blazer.
After being made CBE, Mulligan posed for cameras holding up the insignia alongside her husband, Mumford & Sons musician Marcus Mumford.
The couple, who have been married since 2012, appeared loved-up as Mumford, 39, proudly gazed at his wife while she showed off her CBE.
The pair reportedly met as pre-teens and became pen pals to keep in touch, before reconnecting years later as adults.

Mulligan and Mumford then went on to get engaged in August 2011 before marrying in April 2012 on a farm in England. In 2015, they welcomed their first daughter, Evelyn, 10, followed by son Wilfred, 8, two years later. They welcomed their second daughter in 2023.

A CBE is the highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award. It is one below being knighted and becoming a Sir or Dame.
The honor is bestowed upon people to ‘recognize a positive impact they have made in their work,’ according to the BBC.
“I feel so unbelievably lucky to get to do a job that I really, really love,” Mulligan told British news agency PA Media following the ceremony. “To have this kind of recognition on top is just sort of extraordinary to me.”
The award comes weeks before season 2 of Beef, also starring Ali Wong and Steven Yeun, is due to air on Netflix on April 16.

Mulligan, who plays Lindsay Crane-Martín in the show, said in January 2025 that “almost everything [is different]” in the upcoming season. “But it’s still [creator Lee Sung Jin] being brilliant.”
“It’s a completely new story and if I say anything else then a laser beam will appear on my head,” she joked. “But it’s very exciting.”
