Kelly Clarkson got candid about her love life while performing on July 24.
The singer was onstage at Caesars Palace as part of her ongoing Las Vegas residency, which wraps up on August 15.
The notoriously private talk show host said she is “so glad” to be single.
Kelly Clarkson has long been private about her love life, but shared rare comments about dating—or lack thereof—while performing at Caesars Palace as part of her Las Vegas residency.
On July 24, the singer said she is “so glad” to be single, adding (per E! News) that, when people ask her why she’s single, she responds, “There are a lot of people out here making single look real good.”

“And if you didn’t really understand what I meant by that, it’s like you see relationships and you’re like, ‘I am so glad I’m going home alone,’” she said before adding, “You know what’s not happening in my house? That shit.”
Clarkson, 44, is mom to River, 12, and Remington, 10, whom she shares with her ex-husband, the late Brandon Blackstock—who died at just 48 years old last August after a battle with cancer. Clarkson and Blackstock finalized their divorce in 2022 after splitting in 2020.
“If you are in a relationship, the hardest part is just keeping that fire alive and still dating, and, like, still making it feel magical and not monotonous,” Clarkson said onstage.

Life right now, she said, is all about her kids, and in a January 10 Q&A on The Kelly Clarkson Show YouTube channel, the talk show host said, “They’re that special little fun stage where they can wipe their own behinds, but they’re still small enough to, like, love cuddling and love snuggles.”

“There’s been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit,” Clarkson continued. “It’s my two dogs, my two kids, and me. It’s a lot. It’s been really special, though, because the conversations you have during that time are pretty cute. So that’s probably my favorite time of day.”
In July 2025, Clarkson shared during a performance of her residency that “Dating can be very difficult, which is why I don’t.” She added that dating “is hard anyway” but can be a “dumpster fire” when you “add a spotlight.”

Clarkson announced the end of her eponymous talk show in February after seven seasons, noting that it was “not an easy decision” to step away. She felt that it was “necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives” to prioritize her children, per Page Six. The show will wrap up this fall, and Clarkson’s Las Vegas residency ends on August 15.
“After years of an intense daily schedule, she’s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show,” a source told People. “This change gives her the space to be more present at home while still doing the creative work she loves.”

“Kelly still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind,” the insider added. “For her, this next phase is about balance.”
