The late-night reviews are in for Turning Point USA's alternative halftime show.
Jimmy Kimmel and Jon Stewart both had a field day on their Feb. 9 shows mocking the conservative organization's All-American Halftime Show, which was streamed on YouTube during the Super Bowl to compete with the official version headlined by Bad Bunny. The show was meant to appeal to Super Bowl viewers who were unhappy that Bad Bunny was performing in Spanish on the main broadcast, and it was initially set to also stream on X before running into licensing restriction issues there.
On "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Kimmel described the All-American Halftime Show as a "disaster" that was put together for "angry, 75-year-old grandpas" because "all the snowflakes were so upset they might have to listen to Spanish for eight minutes."

Kimmel also mocked Kid Rock's performance as a "lip-sync battle with himself," observing, "Kid's lips were not exactly in step with Kid's music." The musician has acknowledged there was a "syncing issue" with his performance.

"This is what they do: They complain about how bad everything is, and then they do it worse," Kimmel said after playing a clip of Kid Rock performing. He went on to add, "Almost all of the complaints about Bad Bunny were, 'You can't understand what he's saying.' So who do they go to? Kid Rock, an artist whose most popular song is literally gibberish. You think Donald Trump knows what 'Bawitdaba' means?"
At the same time, Kimmel bemoaned the fact that "we have to take a side" between Kid Rock and Bad Bunny, joking that some of his liberal friends may be exaggerating their love for the latter. "This week, almost every liberal I know, suddenly really into Bad Bunny," he said. "People I've never heard say the words 'bad' or 'bunny' in their lives," he quipped.

Meanwhile, on "The Daily Show," Stewart sarcastically praised Turning Point for putting on a halftime show "in the King's English," before mocking Kid Rock as "an old man in acid-washed jorts badly [lip-syncing] his way through a pre-taped 'Bawitdaba' performance."

Stewart later said it's "pathetic" the way "these people, who control every branch of government, are so triggered by someone singing in Spanish for 20 minutes, they need to create their own safe space alternative halftime show." He pointed to this as an example of how those on the right are behaving like they used to accuse liberals of acting.
"Remember 2017? Remember what you hated about liberals?" he asked. "'Perpetually offended, safe spaces, censoring free speech, culture of victimhood.' Remind you of anyone? 'I can't go 15 minutes without listening to country music. I need a separate show!'"
