Jennifer Lopez could have been a part of this epic moment at the MTV Video Music Awards.
During a Monday, June 8 interview on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the actress and singer revealed that the iconic 2003 performance, where Madonna kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera was supposed to include her.
Lopez, 56, revealed why she ultimately wasn't able to be a part of it.

"I was working on a movie, Shall We Dance, at the same time, and they just wouldn't let me out of the movie," the Office Romance star told host Andy Cohen.
According to Lopez, her, Madonna, now 67, and Spears, now 44, "rehearsed and everything" before the event, which created controversy at the time.
"I went to Madonna's house! It was me, her and Britney. She was playing her guitar, and we were singing," she recalled.
Cohen, 58, then asked if the infamous kiss took place during the rehearsal.

"No, but [Madonna] said that that's what she wanted to do. It was a thing, like, 'We're going to get married, I'm going to be the groom, you guys are going to sing,'" said Lopez. "I was the one who was going to come out first and sing 'Like a Virgin.'"
She continued, "I can't even really remember what it was, but it was something like that."

But ultimately, Lopez's filming schedule for the 2004 film Shall We Dance? got in the way.
"Then they wouldn't let me out of the movie to do the actual show," she said. "I remember I left on the weekend to go meet with her."
PEOPLE has reached out to reps for Madonna for comment.
The 2003 VMAs performance opened with Spears covering "Like a Virgin" before Aguilera, now 45, then joined her to sing its chorus. Then, Madonna appeared on stage to sing her 2003 single "Hollywood."
Then, Madonna kissed Spears and Aguilera on their mouths, before Missy Elliott joined the performance to rap "Work It."
In 2003, Rolling Stone reported that Lopez was supposed to perform with Madonna and Spears before dropping out due to Shall We Dance?.

"I was fearful that the performance was in jeopardy," said Van Toffler, former MTV president, told the publication.
Lopez is currently starring in the Netflix rom-com Office Romance.
