Weeks before the Bleachers frontman and *Substance *star reportedly separated after three years of marriage, Antonoff appeared on *Today** *in May and was asked about any “big weddings” he had lined up this summer. The hosts were teasing him about frequent collaborator Taylor Swift’s nuptials to now-husband Travis Kelce.

Antonoff stammered before deflecting, asking host Craig Melvin about his own marriage. Melvin played along, saying he was married and celebrating 15 years this year.

“Oh, great. How’s it going?” Antonoff asked. “So far so good,” Melvin replied before asking the singer, “Do you know something I don’t?”

“Is it gonna stick?” Antonoff added.

Nevertheless, Melvin persisted in his inquiry about “any big weddings this summer.” “Uhhh, I hope. Yeah, I hope so, man,” Antonoff said, pushing back more on Melvin.

“Oh no, no, no, no. Umm, yeah. I love being married, man. I’m happy you love being [married] too,” Antonoff added. Melvin demurred, noting that that was all he would get about the topic of a possible Kelce-Swift wedding.

Weeks later, PEOPLE reported that Qualley and Antonoff were separated just shy of their three-year wedding anniversary. One source told the publication that the former couple’s relationship had been “rocky.” A second source said that they were “figuring things out.”

Qualley was noticeably absent from Swift and Kelce’s wedding celebrations days before the news broke. Antonoff was photographed leaving for the rehearsal dinner solo and went to the ceremony with his sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, instead.

Meanwhile, Swift attended the former couple’s wedding.

The *Maid** *actress and music producer began dating in 2021. The following year, they got engaged.

As news of their split broke, fans noticed that Qualley quietly deleted wedding pictures from her and Antonoff’s 2023 New Jersey wedding.

In April, Antonoff gushed about his relationship with Qualley and recalled the moment they met.

“I saw her, and it was like a f---ing Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable,” Antonoff said during an April appearance on *SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show*. “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.”

“She’s the center of all happiness and warmth and joy,” he added in part about Qualley.
