The Seth MacFarlane animated universe gains another entry: Fox has given a two-season order to a Family Guy spinoff about Stewie Griffin from the Emmy winner, Entertainment Weekly has learned.
Created by MacFarlane and Kirker Butler, Stewie will follow the titular character after he gets the boot from his old preschool. The eternal toddler is then forced to enroll in a new one that's not exactly top of the line. According to the show's official synopsis, this new preschool is attended by a handful of kids he doesn't know and has a talking 75-year-old class turtle with a half-cocked theory on just about every subject. Stewie's miserable, the other kids are miserable, and even the turtle is miserable.
That is, of course, until Stewie begins rolling out his trusty array of devices to take them anywhere in space and time, turning every boring day at school into an insane and surreal adventure.

MacFarlane will continue voicing Stewie and will executive-produce for Fuzzy Door alongside Kara Vallow and Butler, who will also serve as showrunner.
"I'd like to thank Fox for this incredible opportunity, and I'm excited to start pretending I'm collaborating closely with them on the show," MacFarlane snarked in a statement.

Butler added: "I am honored and humbled that Seth, 20th Television Animation and Fox have trusted me with one of the most iconic animated characters in the history of television. I have known Seth for more than two decades, worked with him on half a dozen projects, and I am hopeful this is the one where he finally learns my name."

The 20th Television Animation-produced series is slated to premiere on Fox during the 2027-28 season, when it will join the ever-expanding world of MacFarlane's adult animation series on the network, including Family Guy, American Dad, and the since-canceled The Cleveland Show.

Family Guy premiered its 24th season on Feb. 15, airing its milestone 450th episode, followed by American Dad marking its return to Fox after a brief move to TBS with season 20 on Feb. 22. Family Guy ranked as the second most-watched adult animation streaming title and the No. 7 streaming program overall in 2025, charted on Nielsen's Streaming Top 10 for an astonishing 37 weeks in 2025, while American Dad ranked as the third most-watched adult animation streaming title in 2025. Both series are among the longest-running shows in TV history, with all episodes available on Hulu.
Additionally, MacFarlane's highly anticipated second season of Ted premiered on Peacock on March 5.
