HBO has released the first footage of returning *Euphoria* star Eric Dane's final TV role before the actor's death.

After the *Grey's Anatomy *alum died Feb. 19 at age 53 following complications from his ALS diagnosis years prior, the network unveiled Monday an extended season 3 preview for the Zendaya-fronted drama series, which includes a sneak peek at Dane's last television performance.

Near the end of the trailer (below), Dane briefly appears in front of Hunter Schafer's Jules, a transgender former high school student who, after the five-year time jump from the season 2 finale, has grown up. Her character was previously engaged in an affair with Dane's Cal Jacobs.

"Remember me?" Jules asks Cal, who replies, "How could I forget?"

The rest of the returning *Euphoria* cast also makes appearances in the trailer, including Alexa Demie's Maddy Perez and Sydney Sweeney's Cassie Howard, who appear to have reconciled after the volatile season 2 finale.

Rue (Zendaya) also finds herself in a precarious situation in Mexico, which also apparently grows to involve Colman Domingo's returning Ali, all while Lexi (Maude Apatow) works as an assistant to a powerful TV showrunner played by Sharon Stone, who makes her *Euphoria* debut in season 3.

Dane reprised the role of Cal as a main cast member on season 3, with the actor revealing in 2025 that he filmed most of his scenes quickly, all while battling ALS.

"I shot one day. I can tell you that we are in production," Dane told *Extra* in 2025. "That's all I know!"

When asked if fans will be satisfied with the long-delayed third season, Dane said, "Yes, absolutely. I think there's still an appetite for that show out there. I think we'll be alright."**

In another interview with *Access Hollywood*, Dane said at the time that it felt "great to be back" on set after a break between the popular Sam Levinson-created series' seasons. "I can assure you that we are in production and we are shooting a really great TV show," he said.

Following Dane's death, HBO released a statement honoring the popular actor: "We are deeply saddened by the news of Eric Dane’s passing. He was incredibly talented and HBO was fortunate to have worked with him on three seasons of *Euphoria,*" the network wrote in a social media tribute. "Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time."

While most of the main cast returned for season 3, Emmy-winning composer Labrinth will not be back for season 3. The recording artist slammed his record label, Columbia, and *Euphoria* in a since-deleted social media post earlier in March.

"IM DONE WITH THIS INDUSTRY. F--- COLUMBIA," the 37-year-old composer of *Euphoria*'s signature score wrote in the post, which is no longer available on his Instagram. The Grammy nominee continued, "DOUBLE F--- *EUPHORIA*. IM OUT. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT X." (HBO representatives did not respond to **'s request for comment at the time.)

*Euphoria* season 3 premieres April 12 on HBO. See the new preview featuring Dane's return for his final TV role above.
