Not even the British royals are immune to the Western trend that has been dominating fashion circles for the past couple of years now.

Following a flurry of Christmas events this past week, Duchess Sophie was seen out and about again on Sunday, as she attended a church service at Sandringham, where she wore a chic layered look that leaned into a few popular cowgirl motifs (as seen here).

For the service, Sophie chose a cranberry-colored Deborah dress with a paisley floral print from Lexy London, a design that is clearly a new favorite of hers, as she also wore it to the “Together at Christmas” Carol Service hosted by Princess Kate just earlier this month, where she layered the piece under a plum, double-breasted coat from Alaïa.

This time around though, the Duchess of Edinburgh paired the ruffle-neck dress with a cream wrap coat from Harris Wharf London, which featured a belt detail and a shawl-like collar. Then, she punctuated the look with a couple of Americana-inspired accessories.

For starters, Sophie popped on a brown, wide-brim hat with a leafy decoration on the crown, and she matched the headwear by slipping into a set of sandy suede boots from Penelope Chilvers, which only added to the overall modern-bohemian aesthetic.

This Southwestern tilt may have been a bit of a different direction for Sophie, but all of the elements were true to her style playbook, from the statement headwear, to the enviable boots and more. She’s just reminding us that she’s always got her finger on the pulse of fashion trends.
