Dalton Davis and Chelsea Shea are officially parents!
The country singer and celebrity makeup artist welcomed their first baby together, daughter Birdie Love, on Friday, June 19, the couple exclusively share with PEOPLE.
"The whole thing was unexpected," Shea, 37, says while reflecting on their journey to parenthood. "Honestly, it was a surprise for Dalton and I."
She and Davis, 31, discovered they were expecting just weeks into their relationship.
"Dalton and I met, and then a month and a half into our relationship, we found out we were pregnant," Shea recalls. "We just decided this came for a reason, God put this in our life, and let's go with it."

Since that moment, the couple balanced getting to know each other, as those in new relationships do, while also preparing to welcome a baby into the world. "Dalton and I have been learning each other while being pregnant and everything else," she explains. "We just threw everything in one bucket at the same time, but it's good."
In an effort to lean into the life-building side of things, the couple recently settled into a four-acre farm in Franklin, Tenn., where Birdie joins an already growing family. "We just got a little four-acre farm in Franklin, and we have a cow and two goats and some chickens, and now we're adding a baby to the mix," Shea gushes.
Speaking of their new home, "these were taken on our lil farm," Shea adds of the loving photos provided to PEOPLE of the happy family.

And as for her daughter's name, Shea notes that it was one she envisioned in relative spontaneity long before the baby's arrival. "We decided if it was going to be a girl, I could pick the name," she recalls. "Honestly, I don't know where Birdie came from. It kind of was in my head."
However, the beauty pro does admit that the inspiration for her newborn's name may have come from the 1998 film Hope Floats, in which Sandra Bullock's character goes by Birdie. Then, her middle name came rather naturally.
"I wanted a meaningful middle name, but Southern," Shea adds. "There's been so much love surrounding us with friends and family since we found out — crazy amount, so much support and stuff. So I was just like, it stuck. And Birdie Love together just sounded very pretty."
With two parents in the creative field, Shea was also thinking ahead in terms of stage presence by selecting her daughter's moniker. "She has to have a Southern [name], but also if she wants to go on the music side, it has to sound good coming over the speaker," she jokes.

Reflecting on how she felt as her due date drew closer, Shea shares that she was both "terrified and excited," by the concept of motherhood. "Everyone's like, 'Are you so excited?' I'm excited and terrified."
"We [had] no idea what to expect," she continues. "Neither of us [have had] a child, and we did not think we would have kids in life and all the things, but we're really excited."

Pregnancy jitters aside, the arrival of Birdie has been one that has already consciously shifted Davis' perspective on life, according to Shea. "He didn't have a very good father growing up," she admits. "So he's excited about ending that generational situation and just putting all he can into being an amazing father."
Shea also pokes fun at the irony of the singer's "Cowboy Casanova" nickname, and him now becoming a girl dad.
"His Instagram is Cowboy Casanova," she laughs. "And so it's funny, it's like God gives the Casanovas baby girls at first to level them out."

In all seriousness, Shea thinks her partner will be quick to adopt his paternal instincts. "I'm just excited to see him as a dad," she says. "I've been carrying this weight and this baby for nine months, so I've more mentally prepared myself."
And due to Davis being a songwriter, she has suspicions that the moment would offer creative inspiration as well. "He's already written songs about Birdie and me and stuff about this whole situation," Shea says.

As a whole, motherhood represents a shift in the stars for both Shea and Davis, who have long dedicated their lives to the entertainment world. Now, parenthood begins an entirely different approach that the couple will have to learn to manage alongside their professional responsibilities.
"Dalton's 31, and we both have lived a crazy life being in this business," Shea notes. "Just living that go-with-the-flow, last-minute lifestyle."
However, she believes Birdie's arrival will help redefine their priorities.
"We're going to still, obviously, try to keep our life the way it is, but it's going to change a lot," the MUA recognizes. "And I think for the better, slow us down a little bit where we need to and really concentrate on what's valuable in life, which is family and friends."
