Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey know a thing or two about comparison.
On Wednesday, July 1, Chloe appeared on the latest episode of Call Her Daddy and was asked about being pitted against her sister as they rose to fame as the musical duo Chloe x Halle.
"After 'Best Thing I Never Had' came out, our very first cover, we got posted on World Star," Chloe, 28, said, adding, "World Star... lethal."
"I think that was the very first time. But like, the thing that people don't realize with sis and I is that we are so different," she explained. "She grew up loving jazz. She'll still do jazz, neo soul, the vibes. Me? I love pop, locking, drop it, the heavy drums... That's the beauty of Chloe and Halle."
Reflecting on the criticism they received, Chloe said that they often brought in "two different sides of ourselves" — yet people wanted to see one or the other.
"It hurt us sometimes when we'd see certain comments. We'd talk to each other like, 'Oh my gosh. Is this true about me?' We'd be like, 'No it's not.' We'd have to uplift each other," she said of her 26-year-old sister. "That's the beauty of us. We're like fire and water."

Elsewhere in the interview, Chloe opened up about feeling the need to change her hair when she was growing up — and leaning on her sister as she embraced her natural look.
"We clung so tight to each other and we weren't alone. We weren't going through criticism, even the positivity, alone. We were rejoicing together and we had a partner to celebrate with and even cry with," she said.
In a recent interview on PEOPLE in 10, Chloe opened up about supporting Halle at a screening for her You, Me & Tuscany rom-com in April.

"Sis and I, we started doing everything together, so we're each other's safety blanket," Chloe said. "I was so happy to be there at the screening in L.A. to support her for her incredible rom-com."
"It's so fun to see how we're both doing our thing and killing it equally, and also, it just makes when we come together that much more special," she continued.
While she continues to support her sister, Chloe is also leading a psychological thriller titled Strung, which came out on June 26 on Peacock. She also released a collaborative album with Timbaland called Resurrection on June 19.
