Carol Burnett returns as the crafty Norma Dellacorte in Palm Royale season 2
PEOPLE has an exclusive first-look at how the new season picks up following an explosive season 1 finale
Palm Royale season 2 premieres Wednesday, Nov. 12 on Apple TV
Norma Dellacorte is back — and she's up to her usual antics in season 2 of Palm Royale.
In an exclusive first-look at the season 2 premiere (airing Wednesday, Nov. 12), Carol Burnett's Norma confronts Laura Dern's Linda Shaw in her padded holding cell after chaos ensued in the season 1 finale.
At the prestigious Beach Ball, socialite Mary Davidsoul (Julia Duffy) tries to assassinate the guest of honor, President Richard Nixon, as Linda sweeps in and tries to stop Mary. She's too late, and the gun goes off, injuring Robert (Ricky Martin).
As Norma "makes herself at home," in the cell, she tells Linda, "You always seem to find yourself in the center of chaos. What is it with you and guns?"

"I've seen your parlor, I can say the same," Linda quips back. "Peas in a pod," adds Norma.
"Make no mistake about it, they're going to make sure you fry for this," says Norma. "You're the poster girl for everything the government wants to squash: a radical, a feminist, and perhaps the scariest of all, a woman with her own money."

Linda tells Norma she "knows a little about that," to which Norma goes, "I'm happy to say I do."
Linda then says she wishes the authorities would question Mary, but Norma says she's the "hardest to pin anything on anyway."
"No one can even remember when she's been in a room," Norma adds.
When Linda says the gun has Mary's initials on it, Norma corrects her. "No, [M.D.] stands for, Maxine Dellacourt. You tell them that Maxine was behind it all."
Norma continues, "I've already laid the groundwork, all you have to do is confirm it. She radicalized your feminist group, taking it over from the inside and before you knew it, you were going alone with her insane plan to kill the president. She invited him to the party, you were merely the trigger woman. A naive impressional socialite who got caught up in it all."

Palm Royale, which follows the lives of fictional Palm Beach society figures in the late 1960s, returns with other cast favorites, including Allison Janney, Leslie Bibb, Josh Lucas and Kaia Gerber.
In the season 2 trailer, Norma promises Robert at his hospital bedside that she "will destroy her once and for all."
"Palm Beach is a game, and Norma is playing it without me," says Maxine.
Elsewhere, Bibb's character Dinah warns: "Palm Beach is no longer safe."
