King Charles III is continuing his fashion education. A month and a half after his London Fashion Week debut at the Tolu Coker Spring/Summer 2026 show, the royal monarch was introduced to an It Girl staple: the Row. Thanks, of course, to Carey Mulligan.

The three-time Oscar-nominated actor, known for her roles in The Great Gatsby (2013), Promising Young Woman (2020), and Maestro (2023), just reached a new career milestone. Yesterday, March 31, she made her way to Windsor Castle to accept an official Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) honor. Presented to her by none other than the king himself, the recognition acknowledged the star’s contributions to drama in the United Kingdom and beyond.

For the prestigious ceremony, Mulligan wore a fresh-off-the-runway look from the Row. Pulled from the label’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection by stylist Danielle Goldberg, the ensemble featured an embroidered cream jacket and black barrel-leg trousers. The top, constructed with a standing collar and organic geometric detailing, offered a classic tailored fit—while the pants gave a bit of movement to the silhouette.

For accessories, she opted against the go-to fascinator hat typical of such a royal occasion, and went with simple black sunglasses from Jacques Marie Mage instead.

The ceremony took place ahead of the second season of Beef, and the newly-appointed commander was joined by her husband, singer-songwriter Marcus Mumford.

CBE is the highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award, a mere one step below a knighting as a Sir or Dame. Other actors who have received the honor include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Winslet, and Olivia Colman.
