Bonnie Tyler’s last social media post before her death featured her final song.

The Welsh singer, known for the hit ‘80s rock power ballads “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “Holding Out for a Hero,” died on Wednesday at a hospital in Faro, Portugal following an illness. She was 75.

The news came two months after the three-time Grammy nominee underwent emergency intestinal surgery in May. The singer’s manager previously announced that Tyler was “recuperating,” however, the next day, it was announced that she had been put placed in an “induced coma.”

Ahead of her surgery, Tyler shared what would be her last Instagram post on May 1, in which she posted the music video for her new song, “One World One Home.” The track, released on April 24, was featured in the documentary *Homeless*.

“HOMELESS is a powerful new documentary and I am grateful for the opportunity to perform on its soundtrack,” Tyler wrote at the time. “The song and the film are both available on streaming, and a limited supply of vinyls can be ordered through the link in my bio 💙.”

According to the film’s synopsis, *Homeless*, directed by Valerio Zanoli, “humanizes unhoused people and explores their backgrounds, dreams and struggles to find the way home. This film aims to raise awareness and funds to end homelessness, and is part of the project Let’s Make a Difference.”

Tyler also released another single in 2026, “Only Love,” on March 21. She was due to perform in Malta on May 22 and in Germany on May 30, and was scheduled for several festival performances and solo shows in Europe over the summer and fall, before facing her illness.

“As such we are sorry to tell everyone that we will be cancelling, or postponing until next year where possible, all of our remaining shows this summer,” the statement read. “This will affect every current show until the end of August. At present we are still hopeful that our shows in the autumn will go ahead.”
