- Price was eager to support her son as he worked on *Camp Rock 3*, although she admitted she was “nervous” about him rising to fame.

- Stone has shared his appreciation for his mom in the past, telling ** that he “always aspired” to be like Price.

Lindsay Price understands the pressure of the spotlight.

As a result, she’s protective of her teen son Hudson Stone, who recently had his breakout role as Desi in *Camp Rock 3**.*

Noting that she and her husband “did not intend for him to be in this business,” the *Beverly Hills, 90210* star revealed that her manager had floated the idea of Stone auditioning for an onscreen musical role.

“I kind of felt like that wasn’t a good idea,” Price told fellow *90210 *alum Jennie Garth on the Aug. 14 episode of the *90210MG* podcast. “And then he auditioned for* Camp Rock* because I was like, ‘Hudson, how funny *Camp Rock*?’ And it was a movie that he had watched a million times via streaming, And then he got it.”

Two weeks later, Price said she was on set supporting her son while he got acclimated to the film. Joking that she became a “stage mom,” she had mixed emotions watching Stone perform on camera.

“I really enjoy watching him do what he’s doing,” she gushed. “He absolutely crushed it because he’s literally playing himself, like a cool sort of musical genius or whatever.”

Although she encourages her son to pursue his career and passions, Price admitted that she was a little worried about him being exposed to sudden fame. While she has built a solid career for herself over the years, the *Lipstick Jungle* actress remarked that she had a “slow build” that allowed her to manage her stress.

“I’m a little nervous because I think what happens to young kids, especially in this like Disney ecosystem—you know he’s recording an album, he’s in this movie—it’s just huge,” she confessed. “And now social media, I just feel like it could all happen pretty fast.”

Still, she is confident that Stone, who is also in the band The Rookie5, has the resilience to make it through, no matter the outcome.

“He is the coolest, best kid in the world because he’s like, ‘If it all goes away tomorrow, how fun was this?’” she added.

And through it all, Stone has been appreciative of his mom’s advice, previously telling ** that he has “always aspired” to be like Price.

“She’s always said, ‘If you love something [or] if you want to do something, I’m never going to stop you and do whatever you want to do. You could be an investment banker for all I care and I’d be more than happy,’” he told EW on Aug. 13. “So when I got this job, it was such a bonus. She said, ‘Oh my gosh, guess what, Hudson? I can help you because I did this too.’”
