What says, "Get ready for some hot and crispy chicken" like the Playbill from Adrien Brody's critically acclaimed Broadway debut, *The Fear of 13*?
Don't see the connection? Well Brody saw something when crafting his latest creation — *Cane's Anthem*, an original mural commissioned in honor of the third anniversary of fast food chain Raising Cane's opening its global flagship in Times Square.
Todd Graves, the founder and owner of the Louisiana-based franchise, jointly shared the news of the mural's unveiling on Raising Cane's official accounts on Monday. The posts all linked to an official press release on the restaurant's website, which included a lengthy artist's statement that detailed how the large, rectangular collage came together.
"*Cane's Anthem* is a vibrant mixed-media collage that was born from admiration and respect for my friend Todd Graves the Owner and Founder of Raising Cane's," Brody began. "The piece chronicles his creation of Raising Cane's — from a far-off dream to becoming one of America's most celebrated restaurant success stories."
For the art world sophisticate and the Caniac Combo enjoyer alike, Brody then broke down the various materials that went onto his canvas. "Layered with found wheat-paste fragments, torn advertisements, and weathered street ephemera that I have gathered throughout New York City along with the playbill from my Broadway debut in *The Fear of 13* — the work echoes the grit, perseverance, and entrepreneurial spirit that defines Graves's journey, the spirit of NYC and an urban aesthetic that has always spoken to me growing up here."
Finally, Brody wrote, "At its center, the iconic Raising Cane's Global Flagship in Times Square emerges as a beacon of ambition and community, illuminated amidst the visual energy of the city. Through its richly textured surface, *Cane's Anthem* celebrates not only determination and triumph, but also Todd's enduring generosity, philanthropy, and belief in bringing people together."

In addition to winning two Academy Awards for his performances in *The Pianist *and *The Brutalist*, Brody has built up a dynamic side career as a visual artist.
The painter, collagist, and muralist's large-scale works generally cut together fragments of American iconography, from the McDonald's logo to the Hollywood sign to a Marilyn Monroe–inspired work that sold for $425,000 at an auction held in Cannes in 2025.
Asked to describe his style last year, Brody told *Interview*, "It's been a processing of all of the influences that we have in our culture and of the many influences that I've had growing up as a New Yorker living in Queens and being the son of an artist. And then the influence of my surroundings, my music culture, the streets of New York, my friends and kind of urban environment and it speaks to lots of things. It’s kind of an unpeeling of the layers and almost a nostalgia for another time."
